Beyond The Sunset Series Returns To Hudayriyat Island With An Exciting Lineup Of Four Sports Events
In line with Modon’s mission to promote a healthy and active lifestyle, the Beyond the Sunset series returns to Hudayriyat Island for its third edition. The initiative will once again transform the island into a dynamic hub of outdoor sporting excitement, fostering a year-round fitness culture during the off-season.
The inaugural edition of the series in 2023 attracted strong interest from residents and visitors alike.The 2024 series confirmed its growth welcoming 1,751 participants, representing 75 nationalities and all age groups, reflecting Abu Dhabi’s vibrant multicultural spirit.
This year’s series will take place across two weekends – from 17 to 18 May and from 31 May to 1 June. Whether you run, swim, ride or skate, there’s a place for everyone at Hudayriyat Island’s ultimate outdoor sports weekend.
Set against the island’s stunning sunset views, an exciting lineup of four sports events will provide an unforgettable experience for athletes and spectators, strengthening Hudayriyat Island’s position as a leading sports and leisure destination.
All participants will receive medals and exclusive merchandise, while winners of selected races will also take home gift vouchers and cash prizes from a total prize pool of AED 60,000.
RUN Beyond the Sunset:
Location: Marsana, Hudayriyat Island
Date: Saturday, 17 May
Timings: 6pm to 9pm
Age limit: None (children are welcome)
Races: 5 km, 3 km (7 age categories for each distance)
Prizes*: AED 100-500
Entry fee: AED 55-80

*Prize money will be awarded to the top three winners in each age group in both Male and Female category of the 5km run only.There will be no prize money for the 3 km run.
SWIM Beyond the Sunset:
Location: Marsana, Hudayriyat Island
Date: Sunday, 18 May
Timings: 3:30pm to 7pm
Age limit: None (children are welcome)
Races: 1600 m (3 age categories), 800 m (5 age categories), 400 m (3 age categories), 200 m (2 age categories), 100 m Splash & Dash (kids’ fun swim)
Prizes*: AED 100-500
Entry fee: AED55-80

RIDE Beyond the Sunset:
Location: Cycling Track, Hudayriyat Island
Date: Saturday, 31 May
Timings: 5pm to 8:30pm
Age limit: None (children are welcome)
Race: Men 40.5 km (6 age categories), Women 27 km (5 age categories), Juniors 20 km (2 age categories), Juniors 10 km (2 age categories)
Prizes*: AED 200-500
Entry fee: AED 65-80

SKATE Beyond the Sunset:
Location: Cycling Track, Hudayriyat Island

Timings: 5pm to 9pm
Age limit: None (children are welcome)
Races: 10 km (4age categories), 5 km (6age categories), 3 km (5age categories)
Prizes*: AED 100-500
Entry fee: AED 65-80
