At Strawfire, ingredients are grilled over straw fed flames, a traditional method rooted in Japan and known for its distinctive smokiness, aroma and rich taste. Guided by the creative vision of Chef Ross Shonhan, the brunch captures the essence of the Warayaki technique while reimagining it for the modern table. Warayaki transforms cooking into a sensory experience and a celebration of both fire and flavour.

Saturdays on Fire offers an experience that is both grounded and soulful, balancing refinement with approachability. Guests can expect an array of dishes that honour seasonal ingredients and highlight the beauty of simplicity. From table-side Temaki prepared with precision to sharing plates designed to celebrate flavour, connection and craft, each course reflects the restaurant’s philosophy of honest yet elevated dining.

Building on this spirit, the menu pays homage to the origins of Warayaki, showcasing starters such as Cold Soba & Corn Kakiage with yuzu pepper dressing and myoga, and the Warayaki Caesar Salad prepared tableside with niboshi-garlic dressing, parmesan, onsen egg and croutons. Larger plates include Alaskan King Crab with shiso-lime butter and chives, a dish that captures the delicate balance of fire, smoke and freshness that define the Strawfire experience.

Complementing the menu is a curated selection of beverages that pay tribute to Japan’s rich drinking culture. Guests can explore an array of crafted cocktails and premium sakes, alongside a refined list of wines and spirits that complete the experience. Brunch packages are priced at AED 450 for food and soft beverages, AED 550 for food and hard beverages and AED 650 for the champagne package.
