The Woven Majlis Presented By Rukn And Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi

Situated at the western end of Corniche Road, Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi, stands as one of the capital’s most recognisable architectural landmarks. From 24 September to 30 October 2026, its iconic Grand Dome is home to The Woven Majlis, a temporary cultural hospitality experience created in collaboration with Al Ain-based RUKN. Open daily from 2pm to 11pm, the experience brings together specialty teas, Arabic coffee, signature drinks and desserts, alongside a curated selection of RUKN products and gifts.

Inspired by the traditional majlis, The Woven Majlis takes its design cues from woven carpets, majlis shade and the ritual of preparing and serving tea. Within the Grand Dome, these elements are interpreted through a contemporary setting that introduces RUKN’s distinctive approach to Arabic tea culture. The collaboration brings together two heritage names with deep connections to the UAE and a shared appreciation for craftsmanship and hospitality. Founded in Al Ain, RUKN grew from the everyday ritual of tea in the family majlis, while Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental has stood as one of Abu Dhabi’s most recognisable landmarks since opening in 2005.

For RUKN, tea has always been central to the majlis. Its story began with a kettle that was never far from the fire, where the first cup was traditionally served to the eldest guest before conversation unfolded around the tea. The name RUKN, meaning cornerstone or pillar in Arabic, reflects this sense of a central point around which people gather. Today, RUKN sources its teas from regions including Sri Lanka, Uji and Fujian, selecting leaves with the same care given to its approach to hospitality.

At The Woven Majlis, the tea selection ranges from Peach and Pear and Cherry Sencha to Moroccan Mint Green Tea, Majestic Earl Grey and Ginger Breeze. The menu also features Arabic coffee, signature drinks and desserts with regional influences, including Khalyat Nahl with local honey, Aseeda Cheesecake and Canelé with saffron.

RUKN’s collection of products and gifts is also available to purchase, with highlights including camping bags, a RUKN suitcase, a Dallah and Gahwa cup gift set, tea gift boxes, a falconry gift box, and sets of RUKN’s signature tea cups and tea blends. The selection reflects the brand’s wider offering, which extends from tea and its preparation to pieces inspired by outdoor life and Emirati traditions.

Together, The Woven Majlis brings RUKN’s Al Ain story into the Grand Dome of Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, offering guests a chance to discover the brand through its teas, flavours and carefully considered collection of products.
