Warehouse 421

ID: 1

Warehouse421, launched in 2015, is a cultural space that encourages artistic expressions, and supports the perceptive processes, in order to reinforce the UAE’s creative community. It is a platform for art and culture, design and creativity, performance and music, from UAE-based, regional, and international artists, designers and cultural practitioners.

Visitors can experience various disciplines, through cultural programs and artistic projects. Warehouse421 hosts the work of emerging artists, celebrates the artistic expression of local communities, explores the UAE’s ongoing transformation, delves into the complexity and beauty of Emirati adornment, both tangible and intangible and brings new exhibitions and artists to not only present a wide variety of artworks but to also contribute to public discourse, interactivity and innovative community development.

From its location that links the industrial and coastal histories, it aims to be an exhibition space that arranges shows by galleries and artists, supports creative production and sets a wider stage for expression throughout the city.

WEDNESDAYS AT THE WAREHOUSE

Most of the workshops, film screenings, talks and performances held at Warehouse421 are inspired by the exhibitions on display and organised as part of the “Wednesdays at the Warehouse” programme.

This bi-weekly series aim to support emerging artists and cultural practitioners, and contribute to the enrichment of the arts scene while creating new opportunities for community participation in the arts and culture space of Abu Dhabi.
