Abrahamic Family House Programme And Events, September To October 2024
The Abrahamic Family House has announced its public programme of events, discussions and community workshops from September – October 2024.
AFH Dialogues,a new monthly speaker series, will explore how the power of dialogue – between individuals, communities, traditions, and cultures – can transform our world for the better.
Dr. Timothy Power, Professor of Archaeology at UAE University, will be the guest speaker for the inaugural session at 6.30 pm on September 25th, which will explore the relationship between faith traditions and archaeology through the rich culture of a recently discovered Christian community at the site of the Siniya Monastery in Umm al-Quwain.
Dr. Monojit Choudhury, Professor of Natural Language Processing at the Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence will explore the role of ethics in artificial intelligence on November 26thwhile Guilhem André, Acting Scientific Curatorial & Collection Management Director at Louvre Abu Dhabi, will discuss how faith and dialogue can be curated and exhibited at a talk in early December.
The Abrahamic Family House’s community programming is themed around a series of meaningful concepts that reflect the centre’s values. Between September and October, workshops will explore perspectives on compassion and purpose through a variety of creative practices and guided reflections.
Popular ongoing programmes, including courses in Braille and Sign Language, Children’s storytelling sessions, and a book club are continuing. The Abrahamic Family House is also bringing back the Asmaa Programme,its popular series of workshops delving into the meanings of key words found in the Document on Human Fraternity.
