Miraj Islamic Centre
This fascinating centre is home to an extensive collection of museum-like displays featuring unique Islamic art pieces sourced from around the Muslim world, including places like Egypt, Syria, Iran, India, Iraq, Kashmir and Russia. Displays include meticulously hand-woven pictorial and bejewelled carpets, silk textiles and royal robes, jewellery, jewel-encrusted ceremonial objects, finely crafted weapons, marble pieces, Arabic calligraphy-engraved vases and miniature paintings, with experienced and passionate staff on hand to brief you on the history and origin of the pieces and the techniques used to make them.
A stunning, world-class museum, this marina-side centre features a rooftop café with panoramic views of the iconic Emirates Palace hotel and the beautiful waters of the gleaming Arabian Gulf. The centre and its café are both open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and entrance is free. Don’t forget your phone as you will want to take photos!
Miraj Islamic Centre offers visitors a complimentary pick-up and drop-off service from their hotels, as well as welcome refreshments, including Arabic gahwa (cardamom coffee) and fresh dates to groups of over 50 guests.
