Abu Dhabi Choral Group To Stage Lively Performance Of Sister Act: The Musical At The Arts Center At NYU Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi Choral Group (ADCG) will return to The Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) to stage a dynamic adaptation of Tony Award-winning musical comedy Sister Act: The Musical. The group will perform over three days, on Thursday, June 6 and Friday, June 7 at 7:30pm, along with two shows on Saturday, June 8 at 2:30pm and 7:30pm, at The Red Theater.
Based on the iconic 1992 movie starring Whoopi Goldberg, Sister Act: The Musical will transport audiences into the lively world of Deloris Van Cartier, a lounge singer who seeks refuge in a convent after witnessing a crime. With her vibrant personality and musical prowess, Deloris adapts to life as a nun and revitalizes the convent’s choir, injecting it with infectious energy and harmony.
The capital’s long-standing community theater institution, known for its dedication to excellence in musical performances, brings this beloved story to life with abundant talent and infectious enthusiasm. Featuring the original score by Tony award-winner and eight-time Oscar award-winner Alan Menken, who also composed Disney’s Aladdin and Enchanted soundtracks, ADCG will uplift audiences through joyous songs inspired by the sounds of Motown, soul, and disco.

Sister Act: The Musical represents the fourth collaboration between ADCG and The Arts Center, and is the latest in a long line of acclaimed performances by ADCG, after successful runs of Spamalot (2023), Little Shop of Horrors (2022), Scene it? Sing It (2021), and Footloose! (2019).
